FAQ
Questions, answered
What is SunDaily?
SunDaily is an iPhone app for building a daily sunshine habit. It shows the live UV index for your location, an hourly UV forecast for the next 10 days and your estimated sun windows, then tracks your time outdoors against a daily goal.
Is SunDaily free?
Yes. SunDaily is free to download. The free version includes the live UV index, the 10-day forecast with hourly UV for every day, estimated sun windows, manual sessions with this week's history, and today's Apple Watch daylight minutes.
SunDaily Pro adds streaks and days this week, your full history by month and year with Apple Watch daylight for every day, personal insights, and estimated Vitamin D and UV dose. Pro is $4.99 per month or $39.99 per year with a 7-day free trial.
Do I need an Apple Watch to use SunDaily?
No. You can log time outdoors with manual sessions on your iPhone. If you wear an Apple Watch (Series 6 or later, or SE 2nd generation or later, on watchOS 10 or later), its Time in Daylight measurements flow in through Apple Health and count toward your goal automatically. There is no separate watch app to install.
Where does the UV index data come from?
UV index, cloud cover and conditions come from Apple Weather for your current location. SunDaily shows today's UV curve, the peak UV and what time it happens, and hourly UV for each of the next 10 days.
What is a sun window?
A sun window is SunDaily's estimate of the better times to be outdoors on a given day, based on hourly UV and cloud cover. Windows are marked Good or Peak so you can see at a glance when UV is highest. Sun protection is recommended whenever the UV index is 3 or higher.
Does SunDaily measure my Vitamin D?
No. SunDaily Pro shows an estimated Vitamin D figure and an estimated UV dose calculated from your time outdoors. They are estimates for wellness reference, not measurements, and SunDaily does not provide medical advice.
Is my data private?
Yes. SunDaily needs no account. Your sessions and Apple Health data stay on your device and are never sold or shared. Your location is used only to fetch UV and weather for your area. See the Privacy Policy for details.
