How can we help?

Getting Started

Download SunDaily from the App Store and open it. The app will walk you through a short onboarding — grant location access for UV data and Health access for Apple Watch tracking, then set your daily sunshine goal. You're ready to go.

SunDaily uses your location to fetch accurate UV index data for your exact area via Apple WeatherKit. UV levels vary significantly by location — accurate data requires knowing where you are.

Location is only accessed when you open the app or start a session. SunDaily never tracks your location in the background.

Tap the sunshine button on the Home screen to start a manual session timer. Tap End when you're done. Your session will be saved to History and count toward your daily goal and streak.

If you have an Apple Watch (Series 6 or later), outdoor time is tracked automatically — no tapping required.

Your daily goal is set during onboarding and can be adjusted in Settings. The default is 15 minutes. SunDaily uses your goal to calculate your daily progress ring and determine whether you've hit your streak for the day.

Apple Watch

Apple Watch Series 6 and later automatically measures your outdoor daylight exposure using its ambient light sensor. This data is stored in Apple Health as "Time in Daylight."

SunDaily reads this data from Apple Health — no Watch app required, no setup needed. Just wear your Watch outside and it records automatically.

Apple Watch Series 6 or later is required for automatic daylight tracking. This includes Series 6, 7, 8, 9, Ultra, Ultra 2, and SE (2nd generation). Older Watch models do not support the "Time in Daylight" Health metric.

First, make sure SunDaily has Health access. Go to iPhone Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → SunDaily, and confirm read access is granted for "Time in Daylight."

Also confirm your Watch is running watchOS 9 or later. Watch data syncs to Health when your Watch and iPhone are near each other — give it a few minutes after wearing your Watch outside.

Apple Watch data is a SunDaily Pro feature. Make sure your Pro subscription is active.

Not yet — a native Apple Watch app is on the roadmap for a future update. In the meantime, your Watch automatically tracks outdoor daylight time through Apple Health with no Watch app required.

Subscription & Billing

SunDaily Pro unlocks: Apple Watch automatic daylight data, full History (month and year views), all Insights tabs (weekly, monthly, yearly), UV dose tracking, and Personal Records.

The free tier includes manual session logging, your daily streak, the home UV arc, and the 10-day forecast.

Tap any locked Pro feature in the app to open the paywall. Select the Annual plan and tap "Start 7-Day Free Trial." You won't be charged until the trial ends. Cancel anytime before the trial ends to avoid any charge.

SunDaily subscriptions are managed through the App Store. To cancel: open iPhone Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → SunDaily Pro → Cancel Subscription.

You'll keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period.

Open SunDaily, go to Settings, and tap "Restore Purchases." Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID that was used to purchase SunDaily Pro.

First try "Restore Purchases" in Settings. If Pro still doesn't activate, email us at hello@sundaily.app with your Apple ID and we'll help resolve it quickly.

Privacy & Data

No. SunDaily does not sell, share, or monetize your personal data. Your health and location data stays on your device. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Deleting the SunDaily app from your iPhone removes all locally stored session data. Health data written by SunDaily can be removed from the Health app under Browse → Activity → Time in Daylight.

To request deletion of any other data, email hello@sundaily.app.
